Is dancing at the reception something that is important to you?  If so, you'll want and need a great DJ or band.  A fabulous DJ can make your reception amazing...a bad DJ can break it.  When choosing a DJ, here are a few questions to ask:

How long have you been a wedding DJ?

This is an important question - there is a huge difference between a wedding DJ and a club DJ.

Do you offer lighting as an option?

Lighting can set the mood for your reception and/or ceremony and really transform the venue.  Most DJs offer this as an option or upgrade.

Do you have letters from past clients?

If they can show you a list of happy clients, chances are you'll soon be one of them!

Do you hide the cords from your equipment?

The last thing you want are a bunch of cords sticking out all over the perfectly planned and decorated reception room.

Do you emcee?

An emcee makes the announcements and orchestrates the events, in addition to playing great music.  If they do emcee, it is important to make sure they are making announcements in a way that fits your style, so talk with them about the way you prefer to be announced and any special requests you may have.
